What’s in the 2025–26 Queensland budget for your grantseeking organisation?

Treasurer David Janetzki handed down the Queensland budget on June 24, 2025.

Here are some of the funding highlights for not-for-profits and community organisations:

  • $250 million over five years for Play On! vouchers for children and young people aged between five and 17 years to participate in sport and active recreation
  • $225.8 million for the Games On! Grassroots Infrastructure Program to support grassroots community sporting projects
  • $225 million over five years for the Staying on Track program, a rehabilitation program to support youth offenders leaving detention
  • $130 million over three years from 2025–26 to establish the Resource Recovery Boost Fund to help councils to develop initiatives and infrastructure to divert waste from household bins
  • $100 million investment in the Country Roads Connect program, for which regional councils can nominate projects
  • $80 million over four years for the Social Entrepreneurs Fund
  • $79.1 million for the Transforming Queensland Manufacturing program
  • $62.7 million over five years for the Supporting Our Local Communities Program, including:
    • $9.2 million increased funding for playgrounds, toilet blocks and car parking facilities
    • $8.2 million to provide grants for environmental and creek catchment groups
  • $51.9 million over four years for the Farm Business Resilience Program and Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program, subject to matched contribution from the federal government
  • $50 million for a new Victims Advocate Service for victims of crime
  • $40 million across three years for the Secure Communities Partnership Program
  • $15 million for the Made in Queensland Grant Program
  • $12.9 million over four years for a Victims of Crime Community Response program
  • $6.3 million in 2025–26 to extend the Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Grant Scheme
  • $5 million over four years to help not-for-profit multicultural community groups build or upgrade their facilities to meet community needs
  • $2.2 million in 2025–26 for the Queensland Financial Resilience Program to support individuals experiencing financial challenges
