What’s in the 2025–26 Western Australia budget for your grantseeking organisation?

Treasurer Rita Saffioti handed down the Western Australia budget on June 19, 2025.

Here are some of the funding highlights for not-for-profits and community organisations:

  • $250 million boost to frontline child protection and out of home care services
  • $67 million to upgrade local court facilities
  • $40 million additional funding for the New Industries and Innovation Fund, which includes grants, sponsorship and accelerator programs
  • $33 million to curb family and domestic violence, including expanding the Safe at Home program
  • $30 million additional funding for the School of Isolated and Distance Education
  • $30 million to upgrade women’s sporting facilities
  • $26 million to increase the Regional Pensioner Travel Card allowance to $775
  • $25 million to establish a Regional Racing Fund
  • $24 million to enable community sporting organisations and local governments to upgrade facilities for women
  • $21 million to unlock natural tourism attractions
  • $20 million to further expand the Aboriginal Ranger Program
  • $17 million to deliver the “Treebates” and Urban Canopy Program and build greener towns and suburbs
  • $10 million across 2024–25 and 2025–26 to run the Community Use of School Sporting Facilities Program
  • $10 million to enable PCYCs to expand early intervention and diversion programs for young people
  • $10 million to expand the metropolitan homelessness outreach program
  • $7.5 million to support digital industries, including $6 million for the Digital Transformation Round of the Local Capability Fund
  • $7 million in support for organisations providing care to animals and pets
  • $6 million to establish a Boosting Women’s and Girls’ Participation in Sport grant program
  • $6 million to establish a Kununurra Night Space program to provide a safe space for young people at night
  • $5 million for the Healthy Oceans Fund
  • $3 million for grants to non-government health organisations to increase awareness, improve access to services and support vulnerable cohorts
  • $2.7 million to deliver a Live Music Package enabling access to local live music
  • $1 million to extend the Women’s Grants for a Stronger Future program
  • $681,000 for repairs to swimming pools in remote communities
  • $4 million for $300 KidSport Vouchers to help children participate in sport and swimming lessons
  • $3 million for Kids Access All Areas passes to help children access arts and cultural events
