Federal Budget 2026-27: stay tuned for funding announcements
Posted on 04 May 2026
The 2026–27 Federal Budget will be handed down by Treasurer Jim Chalmers on Tuesday 12 May, setting the financial direction for the year ahead and potentially shaping funding opportunities for not-for-profits, charities and community groups across Australia.
At this stage, the detail is still under wraps. But if previous budgets are any guide, announcements are likely to include a mix of new grant programs, extensions of existing funding, and policy changes that could affect how your organisation operates and delivers services.
We’ll be updating this article as soon as the Budget is released, highlighting what matters most for the community sector - including funding boosts, new grants and any changes that could impact the not for profit and community sector.
Check back after May 12 for a full breakdown.
